Advanced Controls

Building owners may want to consider incorporating control strategies to implement a non-occupied building flush.

See suggested strategies below:
  • Opening outside air dampers to 100%.
  • Closing return air dampers completely.
  • Running exhaust fans at 100%.
  • Energizing energy recovery devices.
  • Setting the space to high humidity and temperature limits to cycle the building flush mode. This effectively flushes out the system to remove harmful particulate matter.
  • Implement with caution and use only when outside air conditions do not overload the capacity of existing equipment.
